Morale & Engagement are Top Concerns.

"Employee engagement is now one of the top three concerns of most HR professionals. Studies have linked stronger employee engagement to higher customer satisfaction and profits."

Stay Calm Under Pressure

  • Expect the unexpected.  It happens.  If you are not surprised by events and situations, it will be much easier to respond constructively.
  • Take responsibility.  Own the situation.
  • Convey confidence.  Reassure your team.
  • Check your value system.  When difficulty erupts always go to your value system for guidance.  Ask yourself, what's the right thing to do?
  • Create a "bank of goodwill".  During tough times, you will need to ask your employees to dig deep and pitch in. If you have previously established a bank of goodwill, you will be able to draw on it here.  The same applies to customers.
  • Focus on and control what you can.
  • Fix the underlying problem. Look deeper.

How you handle difficulty will impact your employees.  If you handle difficulty well, their morale, engagement, and confidence in you will go up.
